Changes at School

There have been a number of changes that have been made within school in order to get all the children back in safely:

  • Children are not to bring in bags or book bags - only water bottles, lunchboxes and healthy snacks. Please do not send in any foods containing peanuts due to a child having a severe allergy.

  • Children are to wear their PE kits on the day or days they have their PE lessons. Children are encouraged to wear hoodies and jogging pants over their indoor kit.

  • School will provide pencil cases and plastic wallets for reading books.

  • All the children in Key Stage 2 will have access to 'Reading Plus' to help with their reading and comprehension.

  • School will continue to be open from 8:40 - 8:55 for all children to come into their classes - please maintain social distancing, walk into school along the drive and out along the path. If you wish to walk your child into school please only one adult per family.

  • Any messages for teachers can either be sent via the class email addresses or to the school office.

  • We ask that you limit your visits to the school office and please only one person in the foyer at a time.

  • Reading records will be online and we ask parents to complete these and 'hand it in' once a week, by Friday.

  • Children will stay within their class 'bubbles' and there will be very limited movement of staff between these bubbles.

  • There will be no whole school or key stage assemblies - there will be 'virtual whole school assemblies' using the school's Google Account.

  • Playtimes and lunchtimes are now staggered, with each class eating their lunch in the classroom and having an area on the field and playground to use.

  • Equipment will not be shared between class bubbles.

  • The school kitchen will continue to offer snacks and lunches, but the options will be slightly reduced.

  • The options for these are to be chosen via the online form sent every week and payment is to be made using the ParentPay service.

  • Children can be picked up from 3:00pm from the classroom doors, again please only one adult on the school site per family. Children who are walking home on their own will be released at 3:15pm as normal.

  • Buzzy Bees link club will be operating before and after school, with children in separate bubbles.

  • Trips and residential visits may be limited over the next term or two.

  • Parents' consultations and school performances may not be in the same format as previous years, but we are committed to making sure both you and the children do not miss out if we can.

  • We are developing the use of Google Classroom to ensure learning can continue from home if need be.

  • We will send as much information as we can electronically.
