Year 4 enjoyed acting part of Blue John by Bernie Doherty. As always they were expressive and creative!
After a busy day Year 4 had some quiet time reading in the sunshine!
On Thursday 2nd May Year 4 worked in groups to create presentations that engaged their audience and shared information about how sound is heard. Each presentation was different with every child presenting in their own unique way! q
Year 4 were practising retrieving the evidence in a text to help them answer questions. They also enjoyed taking on the role of the narrator and characters to develop their ability to use expression which has ultimately helped them have a clearer understanding of the text content.
How lovely it was to see Year 4 children reading with Year 2 children. Year 4 read their own work that they had written and asked the Year 2 children about their favourite book characters.
In Year 4 we kicked off ‘World Book Day’ with Mr Coleman (school governor) sharing a story.
Year 4 have commenced their study of Zeraffa the Giraffa and made amulets for Zeraffa to send with her on her journey.
A perfect end to another sporting experience for Bradshaw Year 4 pupils. Keep going for Gold Team Bradshaw.
This week we have been trying to find out if a gas has weight. It was great fun getting to shake the fizzy drinks bottles!
Year 4 received a ‘Shared Reading’ lesson from Mrs Riley from ‘The Literacy Company’ who modelled a 30 minute lesson to other teachers. All the children willingly answered a range of questions about the text ‘Finding Winnie’ by Lindsay Mattick. They made predictions, interpreted the meaning of words and deducted meaning from the text. It was great to see them excited and engaged in a book!
