At the start of the week, our Reception children enjoyed a delightful trip to Grappenhall Library. They were warmly welcomed by three lovely ladies, including a very special guest—Mrs Calder’s mummy!

The highlight of the visit was a lively reading of Superworm by the much-loved author Julia Donaldson. Fran, one of the library staff, brought the story to life and then challenged the children with a fun quiz to test their listening skills. As always, Reception had their listening ears switched on and impressed everyone with their brilliant answers.

Inspired by the story, the children created their own colourful Superworm drawings, which are now proudly displayed in the children’s section of the library for all to see. It was a proud moment to see their artwork showcased in a public space.

To round off the visit, the children enjoyed a tasty cookie and a refreshing cup of juice before heading back to school, full of excitement and stories to share. A big thank you to the team at Grappenhall Library for making us feel so welcome!
