We hope that all the children are as excited to come back into school as we are to see them. I know there may be a few worries, but we are sure that once they see their friends and the teachers they will be put at ease.
As you know there are some changes made to routuines etc, these will be fully explained to the children once they are in the classroom, but they will be able to spend time with their classmates and get back into the everyday life of school. Their playtimes will be staggered, so not all the classes will be outside together and they will be kept in their ‘class bubbles’ during these breaks too.
We have asked that the children only bring in their water bottle, packed lunch (if they are having one) and a snack. Once in the classroom the children will be shown where these things can be kept.
The kitchen will be offering a snack of two pieces of toast and a drink for 50p per day. They are asking that this is paid for at the start of the week to make it easier for them. This week it will be £1.50 which needs to be paid for via ParentPay. School meals will be eaten in the classroom and there will be a hot meal offered each day. Once we have the weekly menu we will send this through.
Morning drop offs will be similar to before lockdown – with the classroom doors open from 8:45am for 15 minutes. The afternoon pick up times are slightly different. In order to reduce the number of parents waiting on the playgroud children will be released from classrooms from 3:00pm. Once you arrive in school please walk to your child’s classroom and they will be released once the class teacher sees you are there.
We ask that you think about each other’s health and safety by not congregating together and moving off the school site a quickly as possible and hope that having a 15 minute window for drop off and pick ups will help keep the numbers of people on the playground down to a minimum.
All the staff are looking forward to getting back to some form or normality and they will be sending their own messages out to you about class specific infomation – such as PE days, reading book info etc.
Thank you all for your continued support.
