Year 2 have been learning about the artist Paul Klee in art this term and we have looked at some of his famous pieces of work. In Topic we have been looking at evacuees and the blitz.
The children found out that the blitz is named after the German words Blitz krieg (lightning war) which was the code name for the bombing of Britain. The Luftwaffe heavily outnumbered the RAF so they believed they would win air supremacy quickly. Thankfully, Britain outlasted the bombardment and eventually won the Battle of Britain on the 15th September.
